Perspective!!!

Can we try to put things into perspective? For the programmer, Tech's and folks that have done Y2K testing...

What were the results when you rolled the clocks forward beyong 2000 before the fix? Did the systems crash? Did they simply display the wrong date?

If they displayed the wrong date, we have a problem. If they crashed we have a much bigger problem.

We all know through research that compliant sytems will still have a % of problems, but look at all the critical systems that we know have not been dealt with! And what about non-mission critical sytems???

This is why I am having great difficulty with this whole subject, I am really trying to be optimistic about this, but explain why I should be? The media?? Trust me, many people in this world understand technology, why is it very few are being vocal about this issue?

NDA, I understand, but lets go back to the 1st two questions, that should give us all a clue of what the answer is. Good luck

A more accurate description would be if it displays the wrong date we have a problem tomorrow, if it crahses we have a problem today. Another way to put it is ( no offense ) It's the data, stupid. The operation or machine may not care what the date is but to the enterprise, corporation, or company it could be critical. Not only that you might not even realize you have a problem until you wake up 4 monthes later bankrupt, wondering what hit you. That is if your supply chain will support you for 4 months.

I do agree that Focus is becoming important. Plus perspective may you have the wisdom to accept the things you cannot change and the wisdom to know what they are. (paraphrasing serenity prayer).

Stop every now and then to play with your kids or smile at someone elses. If you prep for any other reason, IMHO your wasting your time.

Rick and Squid--- Don't forget to give those little ones lots of hugs and kisses. Both you and they need it!
