What causes SQLCTR60 error message?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : SQL Server Database Administration : One Thread

What would cause me to get a Sqlctr60.dll error message: That the open procedure for service "sqlctr60.dll" has taken longer than the established wait time to complete, then its' followed by the message DB-Library error-SQL server connection time out. I'm on SQL 6.5 sp4. This has occurred twice, at night when I'm running DBCC Checkdb, it then stops the Sql server. I'm not running Performance monitor at that time, but I do see in current activity the Probe login in an awaiting command status for SQL Perf Mon in Master. Any suggestions on how to prevent this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Tina,

I do not find a lucid explanation of this error (number 2002) in the literature or on usenet. I recommend that you call Microsoft Product Support Services to address this.

Good Luck,

Eric
