Was Lenore a real person,or symbolic of a real person?

The name Lenore show's up some in his work and I was wondering if this character has anything to do with his life, figuratively or anyway at all.

Lenore was actually chosen because it fell into his planned rhyme scheme. He wanted to use the sound "ore" in the poem since it denotes a meloncholy and aching sound and tone. Lenore is comparible to Virginia Clemm, his cousin/wife. She was dying at the time of his writing the Raven and he knew this. Therefore, to him Lenore was Virginia who he knew he was going to lose, just as he had lost 2 other women in his life.
