A retired Filipino withdrew his life savings from the bank because he feared losing it to the millennium bug ... then was robbed. Faustino Timbol told police in Manila that two men slipped into his house and stole #31,000 in cash plus #4,700 in jewellery. Timbol, 61, said he withdrew all his savings because he feared losing it if the millennium bug affected his bank. The Y2K bug can cause computers programmed to read only the last two digits of the year to malfunction when the calendar changes to 2000.
