When you buy a vanity plate, you pay a surcharge on top of the MVET fee. This fee goes to finance wildlife enhancement efforts, or, if you get a plate with a university logo on it, to a scholarship fund for that institution.

Prediction: Now that voters have reduced the state's draconian tab fees, vanity plates will be more affordable, and more will be issued because people will have more discretionary funds for wildlife donations, scholarships etc.

Conclusion: Leave people with more of their own money and for the most part, they'll do the right thing.
