One of his loves was his cousin Virginia, who he married. She died of Tuberculosis and that caused him great depression and inspired "The Raven". "The Raven" was written before Virginia died and in it he waits for her to die. He asks the raven what life is going to be like without his wife and what is going to become of her.

Another love was his mother. She also died of Tuberculosis and because his father left the family, there was no one to take care of the Poe children. They, in turn, got sent to different foster homes.

There is no fact that the Raven was written because of his Wife Virginia... he stated that his poetry and Short stories are Fictional.

Another of Poe's loves was Jane Stanard, who was one of his classmate' s mother. He asked to call her "Helen" as in Helen of Troy, that is where his poem "Helen" comes from. When she died of a tumor, he gets into depression at the early age of 15. (Jacobs26)

I'm sure he never loved anyone more than his wife. He was a romantic, that's y other infatuations are to be forgotten, n not misplaced: that wasn't Love.

I am one of Poe's loves, although he doesn't know it and perhaps he never will. He had many many loves and still does.

I think he also loved his foster mother Frances Allan.
