PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) - Princeton University will close its
buildings for 48 hours over New Year's, fearing possible blackouts
and computer problems from the Y2K computer bug. It also will
disconnect its computer system from the Internet for a seven-hour
period around midnight Jan. 1.

Employees have been encouraged to unplug nonessential devices
like fax machines and television sets to conserve electricity and
protect against power surges.

Yeah! Turn them off all at the same time! :-'

Prediction: many sweating sysadmins will crack and turn off even the big routers at 0 Zulu and 0 local time. No one will admit it beforehand, it'll be a last minute decision. The net will already be groaning with curious survers.

Wipeout!
