TBY2K Forum Request For More Y2K FOCUS

Its just 25 days (or 24 depending on how you count) to the January 1st, 2000 turning point, and wed like to request a bit more FOCUS on Y2K and related issues.

There really is a lot going on, with Y2k at this timing, and we would welcome the larger research team of regular and new posters to pay more attention to the Year 2000 and beyond subject matter.

Thanks.

Any suggestions? Recommendations?

There has also been an increase in forum traffic and a lot of newbies coming in. (In addtition to trolls changing tactics and pretending to be all kinds of off-the-wall-posters).

Also an increase in HTML goofs... intentional and ortherwise.

We could use additional help from the Moderators in flaging us on problems threads. I know I can barely read 10% of what's posted these days.

Thanks!

Diane

We won't be posting much for a while because we're sick. What everybody else seems to get after being exposed to the sky fuzzies. Yeah, the Forum has gone dingy, and rude. Tension? :-)

Too stuffed up and feverish to care ...

If Walter Winchell, Lowell Thomas and Franklin D. Roosevelt were to show up on Oprah for a 3-hour panel discussion to tell the world honestly about the potential hazards here, that would be news. Short of that epiphany, all we're doing now is treading water. No one on this forum is likely to be surprised at reports of an ATM glitch or cash shortage or computer lockup or manufacturing difficulty or industrial accident or leaks of FEMA plans or at media spin. Like "What else is new?"

What can be said at this point that hasn't been said a hundred times before? For sure, we don't know enough. In this situation knowing enough has never been an option.

Coping with fear of the unknown takes various forms. For many this forum has become simply a place not to be alone. I'm not surprised that OT posts are gaining ground.

It's probably been said before, by more qualified people -- but this event, originating in a comically simple technical oversight, has metastasized into a massive technological depth charge which conceivably threatens to shatter our entire way of life, possibly even many lives. Those who come to understand this are understandably shaken up. And not everyone responds "rationally."

Amen.

Quite true Tom.

For as many who can, it's time to hold a balanced center. At least we can "try" to focus.

Notice even the trolls are "stressed."

It'll likely get wierder... before it gets really strange.
