Olympus C-2500L v. Kodak DC 290

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I am considering either the Olympus C-2500L or the Kodak DC 290. I have heard that, despite some good reviews, the Olympus has noticeable video noise, which appears apparent to me in Imaging Resource's musicians picture. The Kodak does not have as large a CCD or as sophisticated a picture, but the images appear smoother with better (or at least more saturated) color. Can anyone give me some advice to help in my decision?

One thing to consider is that Kodak has a whole line of related models, where the Olympus 2500 is unique for the olympus line. If the 2500 had more closely resembleed the d500,600 & 620L, then it would be different.

One think I like about the 2500 is that it more closely resembles a 35mm camera with the Through The Lens (TTL) view finder. The camera may be "clunkier" but I like that feel more.
