Sigma

Hi, today lloking at my PP copy I saw a lens that took my eye: Sigma 70-210mm F:4 UC. for only 99$!!!! is this true, I saw it in smilehpto I think, Bt I think it was a typo as well b/c I saw on other advert. the same lens but 4-5.6 and about the same price.

Anyway, if womeone has this one: How it performs?

For a long time I have been looking for a fixed aperture lens other than the heavy and expensive 2.8 versions, in case that this lens doesnt exist (most probable). Does anyone knows of a nikon fitted lens about the zoom range of 70/80 - 200/210 that has a fixed F4, since working with studio flahs and handheld meter with a variable aperture lens is a killer, till now I have used my old faithfull Tokina 80-200 F4, MC. But I would like an AF for my future (hope not too into the future) F4, so any information will be welcome. Thanks Diego K.

Before ordering anything go to http://photo.net/photo and click on the Neighbor-to-Neighbor link, then click on the link for stores selling via the Internet. Smile Photo has a very poor reputation; among the worst on the page, in fact. The most common complaint is a bait-and- switch tactic where they advertise an item at an absurdly low price then add on all kinds of extra fees for things that are included from the manufacturer.

I think Nikon made an early AF 70-210 f4 lens. Not very expensive on the used market either.

I seem to remember it, ill look it up in ebay. By the way today I toyed aournd with the new 80-200 AFs of nikon, and although heavy its a beaty but prefe the sigma version for its handling. and both are quieter than i could expect. what a couple of lenses!!!
