MR. ED -- or; More From the Horse's Mouth: Al Cuppet, Former Advisor to Joint Chiefs of Staff, Speaks out on Y2K and Martial Law Scenarios

Wowsa.

Caught one. >"<

At last.

This one's for all those -- KOS? -- weary of the rumor mill, the "heard it from a friend of a friend ...", and other tea-leaves sourced information on possible ongoing, less than above-board preparations for martial law in the States. Only it goes WAAAAY beyond, and will make a standard "DAY ONE ROLLOVER" "peacekeeping" effort or even the Seattle Protocols lockdown, seem like a cakewalk by comparison. Advise reading with a fresh set of Depends on hand.

Al Cuppett was interviewed by Franklin Frith on his radio show of November 23. Frith put the transcript of the interview on his webiste on Friday, December 3 -- so I think its fair to say this has not been on TB2000 yet. Cuppet covers with authoritative, first-hand insider details, many of the OT/Y2K subjects that have been gnawing at the edges of TB2000.

CREDENTIALS TOO: 6 yearas as advisor to the Joints Chiefs of Staff; receipient: Secretary of Defense Civilian Service Medal; 32 years in the service, 21 in miliatary; 14 years in overseas service, in 31 countries.

This one has it all. More than you'll want to know, or will be ready to believe. Check out "http://www.y2kcoming.com/cuppet.htm" -- and someone please provide a link or transfer the text for convenience. Thanks.

Squirrel Hunter,

Thanks much for the heads up. I've met Franklin and give him a 10 on integrity. My girlfriend was a moderator of a Y2K Community Meeting and he was a panelist providing reality to water board, electric utility B.S.

Here's a question I'm wondering about.

If most of the countries that belong to the UN are non-compliant to a large extent (i.e., the US is not so great, but the rest are worse), how is it that the UN is A/ capable of Getting It enough as a body to try to pull something like this off and B/ able to get their operations compliant when our own domestic military doesn't seem to have been able to get it together?

Anyone have any useful answers?

With all respect, I clicked on the link above, and found a MAJOR item lacking.

A resume for Al Cuppet.

I have spoken with Franklin Frith's wife, and I believe him to be one who has consistently conducted himself according to the courage of his convictions, and always in an honest manner.

However, the missing resume is important to those who might wish to critically evaluate this interview.

Just my two cents. Worth what you paid for it.

:)

If true, will hide behind Billy-Boy.

-- Hokie (nn@va.com), December 05, 1999.

Nothing ever goes as planned.

Hope this is a wrong turn because the NSA if they so desired would already have a list of each of us and where we lived. If there are two lists put me on the red one because there is a higher power. I wonder about that Soviet part they would have to take a couple major centers out just to show they meant business and limit an American Resistance movement. They would have our nukes sitting next to their subs providing power. I can just about believe this because the military has been cleaned of the non clintonistas.

For those of us that are RealPlayer impaired. could some one summarize the high points of this interview? (WebTv does not support RealPlayer and I can't listen to a three hour interview at work).

I know of Mr. Cuppet. He was a civilian advisor to certain of our teams during the Viet Nam conflict. He always presented himself in a proper manner and, unlike many, many others, we could count on him to tell the hard truth. Saved many a young butt while he was there. I think in view of past experiences, I would tend to believe whatever he says.

Mrs D and I were following along pretty well until the comment on the Israeli contact and the request for an Underground RR. At that point we both came to a screeching halt. Tha Mossad would have NOT been happy about any of this getting press. He would know this and would understand the penalty for "announcing" it this way, unless he was using the anouncement as a recruiting or ticket taking tool.

OH well.

you guys never learn.....this guy should be locked up in the loney bin! If you check the facts of what he is saying they never can be proved or are always false. Like the one about exploding a 1 meg N- Bomb 200 miles up and it knocking all the power out. Since none of you have ever opened a science book you don't even realize that 200 miles up is twice as high as the space shuttle orbits..in other words- Fucking outer space! And we even tested a 10meg bomb in the pacific ocean at high altitudes and didn't knock out power! No my ignorant savages, you have to detonate one at about 10k ft to have a good EMP effect. This guy has no idea what he is talking about but you morons will buy anything. Oh yeah , and the Check police dogs are going to take over America...Ha Ha Ha

-- Laughing at you idiots (This is @load of crap.com), December 06, 1999.

Cuppets association with the Profit Club is immediately suspect, as is his association with Searcy. There has long been a plan to evacuate Jews to Israel in the middle the troubles in America, I know as I was let in on the details (but I didn't and don't buy it to this day as it is a very stupid and unbiblical plan). Although I don't know Cuppet personally, I have met his type many times. Never any solid facts or proofs. There are plans to destroy America and it WILL happen reasonably soon, just not like this.

What a strange collection of "stuff".

Some random comments, in no particular order:

Firth was hired by the Michigan State Police to conduct some high- level y2k seminars. Scary stuff covered, as I recall. He seems to have some credibility.

The EMP thing. Yes, they *are* effective -- VERY effective -- from *much* higher altitude than the 10k feet claimed by the Foole two or three posts above.

From a *very* frightening document on the house.gov site:

[begin excerpt]

In stark contrast, high-altitude burst, detonated a few hundred kilometers above the surface of the Earth, has as its salient featured effect the ability to simultaneously bathe an entire continent in EMP. The ability of EMP to induce potentially damaging voltages and currents in unprotected electronic circuits and components is well-known. The immense footprint of EMP can therefore simultaneously place at risk unhardened military systems, as well as critical infrastructure systems to include power grids, telecommunication networks, transportation systems, banking systems, medical services, civil emergency systems and so forth.

Another potentially devastating, but less well-known effect of high-altitude nuclear bursts is the artificial pumping of the Van Allen belt with large numbers of electrons. The bomb-induced electrons will remain trapped in these belts for periods exceeding a year and in fact up to several years.

All unhardened satellites in low Earth orbit traversing these enhanced belts can be expected to demise from the total ionizing radiation dose in a matter of days to weeks following one such high- altitude burst. A knowledgeable adversary, armed with a few nuclear weapons, might seek to exploit any such perceived vulnerability, thereby severely degrading the significant U.S. technological advantage built on a foundation of sophisticated electronic systems.

[end excerpt]

Did you catch that all? An entire *continent's* electronics, communications, and power distribution wiped out by a single blast. LEO satellites are toast for YEARS afterward.

I suggest you all read the document in its entirety.

Next topic...

I was a bit troubled by the KJV One True Translation (throw out your Hebrew and Greek) stuff. If he *wanted* to discredit his message, he would have salted it with stuff like that. If he *didn't* want to, well, if he didn't want to, I'm in the dark as to *why* he harped on it.

I guess what I'm getting at is that if he wanted people to take his message seriously, he'd have contemplated McLuhan's axiom (the medium *is* the message), and tried to sound more like a retired high- ranking military guy than an Appalachian snake-handler.

In other words, it's nothing I'd show to anyone that didn't attend some micro-denomination backwoods Baptist church, and since I don't *know* any of them, I guess I won't be showing it to anyone.

Like I said, what a strange collection of "stuff".

One more data bit from that house.gov site confirming 250 mile altitude:

[begin excerpt]

Mr. WELDON. A physiologist, OKand worked at the Johns Hopkins Center and is constantly pushing us, as are other more technical Members of Congress, to look at things that perhaps we haven't looked at in a thorough enough manner. And we have had a couple of classified briefings.

I would ask our physicists especially on the panel to respond because they are the experts. You say that an EMP burst would occur at an altitude of 250 miles? Is that the appropriate or optimum altitude for an EMP burst to take place? Is that correct, Dr. Ullrich?

Dr. ULLRICH. There is no particular optimum. Of course, it depends on yield. You can get EMP at altitudes ranging from 50 kilometers on up.

Mr. WELDON. Say I wanted to lay down an EMP over the United States. You said in your testimony maybe 250 miles; is that correct?

Dr. ULLRICH. Yes, you would want to be at about 300 or 400 kilometers, 250 miles, and you would be in the megaton class yield. That would probably put a damaging contour, at least the potential for disruption, out to the periphery of the United States.

Mr. WELDON. What would that megaton yieldage range be?

Dr. ULLRICH. Let me just say 1 to 2 megatons.

[end excerpt]

There you have it. A *tiny* 1 to 2 megaton bomb set off at 250 miles, and we're smoked. And by the way, the transcript mentions that the North Koreans have a missile that can deliver a warhead to that altitude.

I don't know about you, but *I* do NOT find these facts to be comforting.

I find even less comforting the political resistance against a missile defense system to shoot the damn things down if they're fired at us. Maybe we couldn't shoot down every rocket in a massive attack, but from what I read on that site, we're more likely to see a small handful of rockets used for EMP delivery -- a small enough quantity to be "practical" for a renegade state to fire at us -- and a small enough quantity for us to shoot down. IF we had the systems.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 06, 1999.

Good post Ron. Definitely more interesting than the moron's post about EMP a few postings up. There are some real idiots on this board.

-- X (X@X.com), December 06, 1999.

Some good points, with healthy skepticism -- which sometimes runs thin around here. Thanks Ron for providing the background to make even implausible and otherise indsignificant details (200 m. altitude EMPs!!) ring with some verisimilitude. If the

The likes of Gary North and Fr. Malachi Martin have been obliged by their convictions to join hands and dance the Art Bell Hootenany, in order to get their message out: sometimes there simply has to be an association of the reputable with the "less reputable", unless one is positioned to do EVERYTHING on one's own. Who, in fact, is NOT compelled by nature and the human condition, to promote and market their knowledge or skills? Sheesh. Where are these communities of pure intellect who never accept a fair day's wage for their efforts? Philip Greenspun? Otherwise, I think that ilk died with St. Paul.

No -- It's no strike against the veracity of the message, that someone is trying to get the message out, but must recoup their costs and expenses of doing so, and not starve meanwhile. However, skepticism is AOK. I have never seen a Prophecy Club video, and don't plan on getting on their mailing list now! I trust most of us can realize when it's time to be skeptical of our habitual skepticism. Remember -- risks v. stakes ........

Phew!

I know Bill Clinton and Al Gore are real U.N. believers but I find Al Cuppett's statements just a little too much to believe.

In any case thank goodness they are only 1/3 of the federal government.

I know some good ole boy police officers who are well-armed and they wouldn't have any trouble taking care of some sissy U.N. police wanabees.

-- Stanley Lucas (StanleyLucas@WebTv.net), December 06, 1999.

Oh yeah ---

The value of the post as to Y2K and the Upcoming may not be as innextricably intertwingled with End Times zeal as some of the above posts suggest: Cuppet's analysis of matters learned through the exercise of his professional acumen should stand on its own merits, and be judged in light of his service, credentials, experience, awards, etc. Those military matters are his milieu, right? On those ... well, read for yourself. As to future prognostications vi- a-vis Biblical Prophecy ... well, he's obviously no M. Div., nor a Reverend or a Priest ....

For those who appreciate a well-rounded indiviual, the very verve of his Apocalyptic views -- right or wrong -- lends credibility to the military/strategic analysis ... at least, that is, to Cuppet's sincerity in voicing them.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'll reciprocate by giving you something to make you sick to your stomach. [g]

It strikes me as entirely plausible to consider that there may very well be one or more EMP bombs in orbit *now*, placed there by one or more orbit-launch-capable superpowers.

Yeah, yeah, I know... banned by treaty.

Somehow I don't find too much comfort in that.

I did *not* realize that such a relatively *tiny* bomb could knock out our entire country.

Do the Russians or Chinese already have one in orbit?

From a strategic standpoint, they'd be nuts *not* to. Of course, the same logic applies to us, but it's faint consolation. If they *do* knock us out, we don't really gain a whole lot by knocking *them* out in response.

I guess it would make occupation a little harder, but if the whole country is thrown back into 19th century life -- with 20th century population (both in *size*, and in ability to cope *without* technology), life will be hellish enough even without glistening fanged Ruskies swarming across the border.

We'll probably never know one way or the other, unless some idiot pushes the button on us. Then again, I *was* surprised to hear about that Russian defector spilling his guts about the suitcase nukes.

I have to say, thinking about this makes *me* sick to my stomach.
