Please help me. How do we store pasta to keep insects out?

Answers

Five gallon buckets, clear plastic liners and Oxygen (O2) packs.

This forum has a sister forum TimeBomb2000 Preparation Forum. Go to it by clicking back once from this forum and clicking on it. It is just below this one on LUSENET. You will find TONS of great info on storing foods, etc. Best wishes!

Dump a tablespoon of salt in there, that'll kill most bugs. Oxygen absorbing packets are to keep the moisture down so it doesn't get mold; I wasn't aware of them also detracting insects? Or am I misunderstanding?

in addition to the TB2000 prep forum

You should also think about cruising through the newsgroup:rec.food.preserving

If you can't or don't want to go to the Food Preserving newsgroup through your own server, you can access it and search all back messages through Deja News

Oxygen absorbers do just that. They prevent anything requiring oxygen to stay alive....be it fungal or four footed!

Oxygen absorbers are for absorbing oxygen, not moisture. In fact, they *need* some moisture to work.

Dessicants (i.e., silica gel) are for absorbing moisture.
