If you missed it, I wouldn't sweat it. Nothing you haven't heard a thousand times before. Prepare as you would for a long holiday weekend, inappropriate actions (read: panic) may lead to problems, international situations will be monitored, blah, blah, blah.

He tried to dodge and finaly admitted when cornered some dire worst case scenarios and made very light of shipping issues, and don't you know?Banking is fixed! As y2kpro would say;"jeepers."

Someone called in with a question about the reliability of oil supplies from the Middle East. Koskinen indicated that was a concern, but that we could get oil from Mexico and other places. He is really ignorant of how the oil market works. It is a world market and everyone will be bidding for the supplies that are available.

Did he really say we would not know till Tues. or Wed. after the rollover to find out if we lose the power grid?

-- Ray Hildenbrand (Crazynick@msn.com), December 05, 1999.

Dave: The USA uses 20% of the world's oil. You are the richest nation on Earth. You will get your oil, you will just pay more for it.

Petrol is ~$5.67 a gallon in the UK right now, most of that in tax.

Time to wake up. ;)

Yup.

Let us know when you wake up and repeal those absurd taxes.

PS: How about if we stop using "20% of the world's oil" -- and at the same time, stop *feeding* the tiresome boors in the *rest* of the world who never have anything but venom for us as they take our food, sell us their cheap slave-produced crap, and whine about how "unfair" we are.

Do I sound "US-Centric"?

Good.
