New Years Weather Report.....Cold in the Northeast

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I caught the Farm Reports Extended Weather forecast for the remainder of December into the first week of Jan 2000. They report the Northeast United States will be "Well Below Normal" temps. This trough is to extend west-ward into Ohio. For what it's worth these guys are suprisingly accurate. Now Weather/pollies before you start, "stop" i make no guarantees just reporting what they said

Roleigh Martin sent out a website today to check weather for your area in future

Weather Planner

Not sure how they can plan the future when they can't even get today right.

It won't be off topic when you're freezing yer a$$ off. The fact that we've had unseasonably warm temps this autumn just reassures me we'll get slammed this winter. Anyone remember the "ice storm" a few years back..or "the blizzard of 96"? That'll throw a damper on your y2k wood pile.

The real question is when is it not cold in the Northeast during late December/early January? Sort of like saying that it will be hot in late July/early August down in Florida.

There's no predicting the weather in TX, tho. Just two days ago we were hovering near 80 degrees and now we are not going to get out of the 30's. BRRRRR!!!!! I refuse to turn on the heat unless it gets REALLY cold and it is currently 66 degrees in the house. We just see it as good practice! Wearing sweaters and socks in the house.

I kinda hope it is at least this cold at the rollover. People tend to be less restless when it is cold and maybe the food in the freezer will stay good a couple of days longer if it stays cold. Course that's easy for me to say living here....we rarely ever get cold enough that it would be scary cold.
