What settings do I use for close-up jewelry shots?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I have just purchased a refurbished Toshiba PDR M1 (arrived yesterday). I have read and re-read the manual but am not comprehending the instructions.

I want to take indoor and outdoor shots of jewelry so they must be very close-up to show off the details and colors.

Anyone out there that can give me the setting to use and how to set this camera for those settings?

Thank you so very much.

Macro option is activated by pressing the "Macro/<^>" button (that's actually supposed to be a 4-way arrow indicating the rocker switch). As with the 2x (digital) zoom mode, this switches on the LCD screen, and configures the camera's optics for macro shooting.

I think the M1 focuses as close as 9CM.
