There are now many companies making carbon fiber tripods: Gitzo, Bogen, Velbon, Mamiya and Slik, and there is now some price competition, particularly as the cost of CF raw material is coming down. There are plenty of reviews of the Gitzo, but it is the most expensive, and I am not a fan of Gitzo leg-locks. Does anyone (1) know of a review of all of them or (2) have experience with those besides Gitzo?
