A Reminder to TEST!

I bought two large galvanized trash cans last summer as part of our water preps. We have a well, so the plan was to use the generator periodically to fill the cans, which we would then "dip" as needed.

Today, I realized that placing one of the cans next to the wood stove would perhaps heat the water......so I decided to try it out.

Imagine my surprise, then almost "panic", when I discovered that the cans are not leak proof!

*SIGH*......back to the drawing board.....

My advise to all......TEST your plans!!!!

Perhaps you could put the trash can inside of a water tub; or perhaps fit a smaller one inside of the larger one with a plastic liner/bag in between them. Guess you need to find something else to hold your "dip" water too. Hope you find an affordable solution soon.

Take that leaking can to the welding shop or to a radiator shop. They can fix it.
