Seems like Zwaxy dont care much about marp anymore,no news,no updates for beta 10,and soon b11 is out. Marp seem totally dead to me (remember this is my opinion)

I think MARP is alive and well...Zwaxy probably has other things to take care of besides us over-grown teenagers in our virtual arcade. ;) Fear not...you can still participate in T2 and submit ugly scores to regular MARP and have them criticized by your fellow MARPers :p...SEE?! I think MARP is still alive and well. Most of the point of making the site so automated was so that I didn't have to constantly baby-sit it - I wanted it to pretty much take care of itself.

Updating for new betas is a reasonable amount of work if you want to get it right (checking which games have been renamed to which other games and so on). If anyone wants to volunteer to take this task off my hands I can pass them the arcane knowledge of how it's done... Don't all shout at once, now!

The ideal applicant will possess the following skills:

• An attention to detail bordering on the clinically insane.
• A willingness to work for free.
• A skin as thick as orange peel.
• The ability to run basic UNIX tools like 'diff' for comparing MAME game lists.
• Um...
• That's all.

But wait, I thought you didn't care about MARP anymore. Seems like you care plenty enough to hang around moaning and whinging. If MARP seems dead to you, why don't you do something constructive and participate in T2 or upload something to the regular site? Here's a change- I'm going to complain about YOU. You tried to rip the voting system off in T2 with your mass voting crap, then bleated about MAME32 not being allowed. The vote to use it went your way, and after all that moaning about it not being in, you submit one recording on a non tourney setting that was disqualified. Poor Stiggy Wiggy didn't like that so he decides to not participate anymore. Geezus... get a life man.

Sorry to the others (except Lamat And MvdV) for this little rant, but I'm getting a bit sick and tired of the crap that's been going on here. No wonder Angry won't contribute anymore.. if things keep going the way they're going I'll be joining him.

Jesus H Christ, Some of the posts on this board are beyond me. Here we have a guy who has set up a platform for arcade junkies like myself ,and the rest of you guys , to play, record , compete, and above all, enjoy the experience. Hell, do ya think that when the " Golden Age " sort of dwindled years back, that you`d have this chance to re-live the experience ? I know I didn`t. This same guy does it for free, for our benefit, and quite rightly, in his own time. I`m not really in to slagging-off ( that means " flaming" , or complaining about....for the benefit of players who are not natural English speakers ) other players. But Stig...c`mon , to state that Zwaxy " dont care much about marp anymore " is a bit much. Who are you to question what way MARP is run ? It`s nothing personal ( I`ve obviously never met you ), but from your posts you do , in fairness, appear to be rather grumpy and cynical. Hell, I`ve a few scores from Beta 10 that I`d like to submit, but you don`t hear me complaining. I`ll wait like everyone else until the Database is upgraded. As for MARP seeming totally dead ? Seems rather alive to me. But then again , thats only MY opinion....

Seems that i did what my intention was,to provoke people here :). The reason i disliked my recording was disqualified is,that i used the same settings for my Officially recogiced Twin Galaxies Mame hiscore,can be downloaded at Marp. My point is not that Chris dont care anymore or that site is dead, it is that just a few people seem to enjoy it at the moment. And a message to you JSW, if you leave marp it wouldnt hurt marp at all,and nobody would care,so just piss off.

And you need to get your facts straight. Your recording on MARP was made using m34b3. The default settings for that one are NOT the same as the default settings for win35. The settings you used for T2 were NOT TG. And, please, speak for yourself if you say that only a few people enjoy MARP. If YOU don't enjoy it (and I doubt there's anything you enjoy), that doesn't mean others don't.

And what was the point of ICQ'ing the F-word to gameboy9? What has HE ever done to you?

Why don't YOU leave MARP, if you're so concerned about people enjoying it? I bet a lot of people would enjoy MARP a lot more then...

I never did send anything bad over icq to anyone, and of course not to gameboy9,i have nothing bad to say about him or most marpers, there is a few that is ruining everything like JSW and a few others. You will never see me leave MARP. Ok so in fact my tg record was made with the same settings as the tourney is played on,too bad nobody has beaten it yet without cheating. (i hope somebody do) I want an explenation why the heck do you guys turn me into the bad guy, i just want a nice place for hiscores,without cheaters, egoists and so on. I been competing at marp longer than most people in this discussion, so i know how fun it was when it all started. So again piss off to JSW, but nobody else should feel i am addressing them, the ones that its meant for knows who they are. Me has always wondered why people are so afraid of saying their name here, people like BBH,JSW and others.

Mine is Matt Hall, "BBH" is a long-running nickname that I've kept alive by entering it in as my initials on games... and on the net. Are you happy?
