The long arm of the Government

A truly scary article

Thank you for yet again reminding me why I left that screwed up state. Apologizes to those good and honest people in the law enforcement community who actually serve the public, but 20 years in California has left me extremely distrustful of cops.

Glad that kind of thing can't happen here.

I fully expect it will happen where I am presently located. I'm just glad that I know what may be around the bend in the road rather than being forced to deal with it in the present.

What in the heck is up in California? Have the communist taken completely over? If they don't want to secede can we vote to throw them out of the Union?

...and the pundits still scratch their heads and wonder why more and more Americans distrust their government.

Oh, how I long for less cynical days when I could have said, "This cannot truly have happened as its being reported. Surely there must be more to the story." Sadly, now it is all too easy to believe and I find it frightening.

I bought some MRE's and emergency flares from this man in Sept 98. At the time he was selling from his garage outside Victorville, CA. The garage was filled with racks of military surplus items. Mr. Shurborne seemed to me to be a very nice, helpful, ordinary man. The place was perhaps a bit messy, but nothing extraordinary. I am horrified to read this article! What has happened to our country?????

California IS rampantly violating people's rights. This past Thanksgiving, the Department of Fish and Game rented a CHP helicopter to buzz people's homes and yards disturbing their privacy and looking for violations. They are not permitted to enter private lnd without permission unless they are a game warden on official business. Even then, they must have probable cause and a search warrant. People have said no - back off, in this county. So now they use copters and evade the purpose of the law.

They also have some other nifty tricks up their sleeves. Game Wardens are now deputized as both state and federal officers. In addition, the re is now a "special regional environmental prosecutor" funded by the state and the feds. to litigate alleged "environmental crimes" perpetrated by homeowners.

The government doesn't have long arms. It has tentacles.
