Thank you Colin. the Lurker in Chief (my bride)wanted this posted because the time of year ALL blood collection agencies are strapped trying to handle the basic normal demand, while the actual demand rises.

I've donated blood for years, and have one bit of advice. Make sure you have eaten and taken in plenty of liquids before you donate. You should have no ill effects from donating. In fact, I usually feel better after donating, which I can't explain but am happy to experience. The one time (I've donated about 25 times) I felt bad, I was dehydrated when I went in. Don't make that error.
