In seattle to those who are protesting the (WTO) world takeover organinzation our support is with you. Those pieces of CACA that are selling our childrens birthright to the biggest pimp corporations deserve to be disrupted and illuminated for the piece of sh*t they are. To all the officials there, the whole country and world is watching. The WTO looks and smells like the Third reich 90's style we got you figured out dont think it will be easy from here on out. You may have the guns but we have the numbers and God on our side. Evil will not prosper.

---sandy, only a few of the thousands there are being jerks and stealing stuff and destroying. it just makes for better video for the tv shows and the news paper pictures to show those scenes. and some might be paid agents of some faction in the big companies or some gov agency, maybe. they have been caught doing this before. that is just a maybe. some of the local punks are just violent people, too, sadly, there's always those sort of people everywhere, want to take advantage of the situation. anyway, that's what's happening. a lot of people don't like a big private organization trying to set up some sort of rule for independent countries to have to follow-that's a simple way to put it, sorta. some of the folks are union people, afraid for their jobs. some are protesting big corporations excessive pollution in places. some are protesting doing business where they have or use child labor, or even almost slave labor. there's a lot of reasons for the protest. they'll be more tomorrow, it'll sort out somehow, hopefully the jerks will leave maybe, and the protestors with honest differences will be heard, maybe, we'll see.

Zog,

you touched on something here. What a better way for the gov. to disperse and silence a huge crowd of pacific protestors than to plant their own "rioters" and then have the mayor call in the National Guards. It hit me as odd when I saw the "rioters" on a CNN clip; all were wearing face hoods/masks and they went about methodically (even calmly) to overturn newspaper dispensers, some throwing them in store windows etc. Their behavior contrasted starkly from the spontaneous riots I'd expect to see; unmasked rioters showing agitation, spurred by adrenaline. Those rioters were just too cool...even their masks were all matching.

Klinton was schooled very well in England and the Soviet Union. Lessons probably included how Hitler handled things in the 1930s.

Not now,

The reason they were getting away with doing what they were doing is because we welcomed theprotesters to town, the mayor even provided them with a rally and a lot of polititions marched with them.

There was no police presence where these few (about 15 in all) were doing their dirty work. The real protesters were trying to stop them.

Unfortunatly the schools let the kids watch what was hapopeneing so they could see how we should support peaceful marchers who are standing up for their ideals.

Unfortunatly one station filmed these few creeps and showed it over and over and over. The teens and every other group of miscreants saw them get away with what they were doing and decided to take advantage of the situation. The little gang banger wanna be's and anti-everything anarcist groupies (teens mostly) showed up after school and went balistic.

Trust me, they got on camera like they wanted and there are going to be a lot of "microsoft millionare's whipping their kiddies asses when Momma and Poppa see the kids on TV. Some of these kids were so stupid that they actually looted stores and put the loot into their brand new cars in full view of the camera's. Like DUH... licence plate numbers can be traced back to them, any real thief would know better than have their soccer buddy drive right up to the store and pick them up.

This is the one thing the Mayor and Chief of Police never thought to make contingency plans for. The trouble went on for hours after the real protesters left.

As a matter of fact, the real protesters gave the Police a standing ovation when the Police told them that they had acomplished their goal of stopping the WTO meetings by blocking the building. There was very little trouble from the tens of thousands of people who came to protest. It was a small few (not from Seattle) who were the origional problem starters. It was KIDS from around here that caused the major riots and vandalizm.

Most of the day everything went along calmly, the protesters didn't even know about the trouble that was happening somewhere else. There were some (real) protesters who tried to stop the "bad guys".

There was a party like atmosphere in most places, singing and dancing to music, a group of women dancing with nothing on abouve the waist, people chained to street fixtures, you know the normal nonviolent protest stuff.

The Mayor refused the help of the National Guard for most of the day, but will accept them tomorrow, unarmed and dressed to blend in.

Regardless of who the masked rioters actually were, isn't the important point that a small number of rioters managed to provoke a curfew and the intervention of the Guard? I now think that Y2K curfews and even martial law (in large USA and maybe even UK cities) is not just possible, it's probable. :(

Thank you WTO protesters for your courage
in confronting the beast. You are the brave
soldiers of the upcoming confrontation.

And yes, infiltrators are sent in to create
a situation that allows a militaristic response.
That was show in Chicago in 1968 when video
showed police breaking windows in downtown
Chicago and then using that as an excuse for
police violence.

The WTO must be confronted or we will be inundated
with international laws that destroy the environment,
human rights and human dignity.

If a government wants to neutralize its critics, its options are fairly limited.

It can debate them, but if its position is based on lies, that's not a wise option, as it'll lose a fair debate.

It can attempt to silence them, but the Iron Fist never comes without baggage, so it's not really an option for a regime claiming its Divine Right to Rule on the notion that it Feels Yer Pain.

It can attempt to co-opt them, but that won't work if they have no appetite for the Tasty Morsels used as chits.

Or, it can deploy the tried and true: a boatload of agents provocateur, to *discredit* them.

Thank you for that assessment Cherri,

For the most part that dovetails with the WTO media coverage in the San Francisco Bay area.

There is one video clip that bothers me though. It rather looks like the Seattle police started the fricas with the pepper spray and rubber bullets, and a time when the protestors were just sitting in solidarity.... prior to any violence from the intentional disruptors and punk kids.

Curious perhaps?

Have to agree with Colin and y'all. Agents provacateurs -- hey it would just take one or two in a group of AUTONOMEN or Anarchists from Eugene, to turn the whole group into vandalizing thugs, "justifying" a curfew, then a "presidential emergency". Any excessive force used by the Police, NG or MPs then becomes it's own reason for protests to spread to other citiews, and pretty soon .... voila 120 cities could be under martial law, just in time for Y2K.

One of my impressions of the WTO rioters was that it appeared ro be the same sort of crowd which was rioting at Woodstock '99. With the "A for anarchy" flag and their own gas masks, these folks were ready for trouble and wanted it.

As far as agent-provacatures, what about the Earth First types who've been advocating taking advantage of Y2K breakdowns to eliminate technology from humankind? Don't you think they'd be out at something like the WTO going on in their own backyard, the Pacific Northwest? Maybe they'd like to get in a little practice before New Year's. Or perhaps there's a move afoot to kick off the Y2K-related festivities early?

As much as I distrust the current administration, they aren't the only ones who could gain advantage from rioting at the WTO.

.....These were agents profocatuer to discredit the protestations of those that are knowledgable about the evil behind the WTO. Where were all of the protestors back in '94 when Clinton called a lame-duck session of Congress back to the district of criminals in late December to pass this 23,000 page monstrosity that not one Congresscritter took the time to read?! The vote went through with the diminished numbers of members present, (many of whom had already been voted out of office), and we had Gatt shoved down the throats of the American people, inspite of 80% of those polled opposing it.

.....This also created the WTO and allowed our trade policy to be de facto initiated from Geneva, Switzerland via secret tribunal that makes decisions in private with NO APPEAL!!!

.....Too many of our citizens sat watching Roseanne or idiotic sports to care that their sovereignty had just been stolen, (bread and circuses?), or do they even know what sovereignty is? The chickens of America's political inactivity are now coming home to roost.
