NTSC VCD-R: No Time Display on Philips-Magnavox DVD825greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread |
I think Matthias Brueck's 11/3 reply ("How to make ff, rew etc work in Philips DVD 750") got me CLOSE to a VCD that will "time display" (activating FF & REW) on my Philips-Magnavox DVD825. (His "helpful hint" DID solve the VideoPack "entry points" error!)Unfortunately, the only VCD I have that shows a time display is a PAL disc (that my NTSC TV doesn't like), and the ONLY files on it are the MPEG "DAT" file, ENTRIES.VCD, and INFO.VCD. (Yes, only 3 files, but it DOES display time!)
When I substitute these files as Matthias recommended, my resulting VCD still doesn't offer a time display...
Anyone got any ideas?

I've the same problem with a Philips 710 DVD Player. No "time display" no FF/REW functionality. I tried several encoders (lsx, xing, panasonic), several burning software (nero, winoncd 3.6). No good. I also have one vcd that shows timer and all, but has the wrong video bit rate. The video is stopping all the time but shows timer and allows ff/rew.Any hint would be great! Thanks Joey

I have the 825 also, and its driving me nuts, it loads my disk and says VCD in the display but no movie is shown, then I go into set up and turn the one option off (PCB? or something like that) and it will then tell me there are three tracks (I have 3 files on the cd) but wont play any of them or display any times. When I do select a track it jumps back to 1. Arrrrgh Im ready to give up, Anyone haveing a solution is welcome to write it...(wishfull)

I've got a philips 710 dvd player and it allso doesn't show time for my own created vcd's. For the vcd's i copied with cd-copier i see the time. but i've got another problem and would like to know if any of you now a solution. For all the vcd's i myself created, they stop playing after about 15 to 20 minutes with a disc error. The ones i copied with cd-copier directly from a original vcd no problem.
