Non-695 supporters seem to be Hypocrits!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

Well now, now that I-695 sucessfully won, it seems that there are several noted non-695 supporters taken advantage of this initiative. I have personally talked to city councilmen and other government heads not to mention government workers, and non-government people that were not insupport of this initiative. The bottom line now seems to be "If you can't beat them, join them". Its quite evident that all will benefit by the passage of this initiative, even those not in support. It would be interesting to get License records from as far back as July, or better yet from November to see those who are not renewing their car tabs until January. It would be interesting to find that many for vs against this initiative are waiting until January to pay their tabs. If this becomes truely apparent(being the fact that many non-supporters)it seems quite pathetic that those who did not vote for this initiative now want to wait out paying their tabs until January. Can one obtain records of those who don't pay until January? If so, I hope you are not running for office if you did not support this initiative.

What's your point? There is no conspiracy. Our electeds aren't dumb, just because they may have voted against the initiative, doesn't mean that they can't benefit from the $30 tabs.

If you can't beat them, join them! The point is most people that were against this issue is now seeing the benefit of it. Its funny, how they were so against it, and now their willing to risk a month or two of driving on expired tabs for its advantage. If these people were so against 695, it should be no problem for them to dish out mvet funds for their car tabs when there due. Because their soo proud to be tax paying americans. Well now, how hypocritical are they. These people should pay for their tabs as anyone else should before the initiative becomes law. If you are truely going to be a non-695 supporter don't be a hypocrit.

Mr. Bill:

Those who believe 695 was poorly written, ban law, and should not have been approved; are still Washington citizens with the same opportunity to take full advantage of the law as it will exist in January. If you believe that makes us "hypocrits", you have an odd definition. The purpose of taxation is to require everyone to provide a "fair share" of the money needed to provide some public service. If we individually continued to pay the MVET, neither objective would occur. Everyone would NOT be paying their fair share, and government would NOT acquire sufficient money to provide public services.

Hey dbvz,

you write:"Those who believe 695 was poorly written, ban law, and should not have been approved; are still Washington citizens with the same opportunity to take full advantage of the law as it will exist in January" I agree in January not October, November, & December. Those people that are so - call proud american non-695 voters should wait until it is law and otherwise pay their tabs as most of us have already done. Pull your head out and read. You are definitly hypocritical if you were to not vote for this and then avoid paying your tabs when they are due during this year. After, January who cares all will have opportunity to enjoy.
