Studio Lights

I have been a serious photographer for several years now and am looking into buying some studio lights for portrait and figure work. Ask me any questions about cameras and I could speak volumes, but when it comes to studio lights, I am completly clueless.

I'm hopeing to get some sort of Studio Kit that comes in a semi-portable case so I can take it to various locations. Two lights would be ideal along with the ability to use umbrella reflectors. I've noticed several kits by Smith-Victor, NRG, and SP Studio Systems that seem nice and are moderatly priced, but really know nothing about their quality. What is the difference between Quartz Lights and Flood Lights?

Any and all information you could provide would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

Like I told the guy at the other question above yours, I would go with Novatrons.
