The Time Bomb 2000 (Y2000) Forum....

...Founded by noted computer expert Ed Yourdon, has tended to cover a very *broad* spectrum of Y2K and related NEWS and opinion, over the past two years. The archives alone contain over 260,000 posts made here.

Some are on-topic, some are OT off-topic. (This is the internet).

For people new to the Y2K scene, you can try to discover whats happening by reading the wide ranging threads (very time-consuming) or you can just decide to DO SOMETHING to prepare for what looks to be an unknowable global impact, starting January 1, 2000 and continuing well into next year.

Unfortunately the statement Who Knows? is still as true now, as it was a year ago.

Prudence suggests preparation.

Be Prepared is a tried and true scout motto.

So... what do you do?

Cover the basics... first!

Start with...

1) WATER STORAGE & PURIFICATION SYSTEMS
2) FOOD SUPPLIES & FOOD STORAGE
3) HEAT & WARMTH NEEDS
4) COOKING & FOOD PREPARATION
5) MEDICAL NEEDS
6) SANITARY NEEDS

And so on.

Good move Diane! Very calm, matter-of fact, and helpful. Suggest posting the same maybe once in the A.M. & once in the P.M. each day, as a reminder to all and so the newbies don't get into the nasty mess we found ourselves in last week. Not a doomer, definitely not a Polly, I am---just prepped.
