U.S. Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson tells Oprah how the country has prepared to prevent this from happening. Same-o, same-o,
Want to bet? Oprah has stayed at arms length from this whole Y2k
issue. Earlier, don't remember if it was early this year or late last
year, she did a short look at Y2k, but apparently didn't like what
she saw. So, unlike the typical Oprah, she avoided it. She gets into
the most arcane issues for her audience, constantly, but not this
one, no, no.
So let's take some bets. I think we know pretty well by now how this
is going to be presented to the public by all the *big* shows and
media. Oprah is going to have on some top level government folks to
talk about what is going on, and what is going to happen. This is
Koskinen level babble about to be released, again, I think. That
means there *will* be some dire warnings about things "outside" the
US, but no connections will be made as to what that means to Joe and
Jane Public. Electric will be fine, except in some isolated "local"
areas, but it will be very short term problems. They will *not* say
that local area means statewide.
Anyway, I think we all know the litany by now. We've heard it 1,000
times or more. You will get the chance to listen to the Oprah
rendered version, and then compare that to the Senate report and,
better yet, the recent Lane Core series. Lane, the Oprah show might
be a great springboard for another article. Be sure to tape it so you
can take it carefully apart. Anybody that thinks this show will alert
the public is indulging in wishful thinking. CL and FactFinder will
love it though. Bet they'll be screaming "you GO, girl!"

I wonder when it will be broadcast here in the Netherlands and..
if Jerry Springer is waiting till january for his show with doomers.
