I also found a good (unadvertised) deal at Sears: 40 AA batteries for $9.95. They were half price.

The battery deals are rather good, if it is for alkaline batteries.

Most all alkaline batteries are similar in both shelf life and power storage capacity. The "regular" batteries will usually give less than 1/4 the power of the same size alkaline, and they self-corrode in much less than half the time.

The first deal above is most likely not alkaline. If it is alkaline, lets stock up now. The Sears deal, I saw the same deal for alkaline AAs at Sams or BJs a month ago, but have not seen prices like that since.

Yeah, the Sears batteries are alkaline.
