Self-Organizatoin and Park Management : LUSENET : work teams : One Thread

I am a student inquiring on better ways to manage parks. I am looking for any ideas, suggestions or information on this topic. Specifically, I am looking at how to create organizations that work "synergistically" and self-organise versus being controlled. When an organization self-organises-each individual has more input, hierarchy is not as evident, and decision making and relations among all individuals will be at a maximum. How can this occur? What is the relationship between the size of an organization and how its management structure is formulated? How does such an organization evolve? How do they respond to change?
