Mike and I will be in NY from Thursday 12/23 through Tue 12/28. If you could possibly hold the Late Night with Mook run on a day when we will be in town, it would be geatly appreciated.

I think Late Night With Mook should be on the river trails in Lawrence (as it was last year). The river trails are a very good place to do a night run because the trail is smooth and it is easy to get to the trail head. Because the trail is smooth -- it is suitable for running even if you don't have a hi-tech mega-watt halogen head lamp (a regular hand held flashlight is enough).

By the way...you may be wondering what Late Night With Mook is? Well, it is a low-key night time trail run. Mostly it is a good chance for OKers to get together for a social jog. After last year's LNWM we went out for dinner (I think we went to Papa Kenos for pizza).

Last year we had five participants -- hope to see more this year.

I should be back from Minnesota on Jan 26. Only Dec 30th is out (Dee & I will be at Kemper to see the KU teams take on St Louis). Hope to make it this year.

The Second Annual Late Night with Mook has been scheduled for Tuesday the 21st day of December, 1999 in Lawrence Kansas at the Kaw River Trail going east of Lawrence. The start will be at 6:30 pm (ie. 6pm if you're you know who), and will feature a full moon, a lot of fun, and a post-run meal. You are invited. Expect to run a while, rather slowly, along a dark trail. Bring your own light.

To get to the start from the north side of the Kaw River bridge, head east on Elm Street, or something parallel for almost 2km to North 8th street. Turn south on North 8th and go over the levee onto the gravel road. This road leads shortly to the parking lot when the Late Nighters will congregate.

It would appear that not everyone's schedules overlap in such a way that Late Night is a possibility for all who would like to make it. It is unfortunately the 2nd year in a row, but hopefully one year everyone will have his or her Late Night dream fulfilled. I would think that those who cannot make Late Night may find the Holidays Trail run scheduled for after Christmas. Hopefully everyone can make at least one of the December OK trail runs.

Unless I take off work, I will not be there. I can make it the 20th if a date change is possible.
