I taped it. Probably don't have to watch it now. The sidebar on reality checks from experts had this: "Navy F-18 fighter jet falls from the sky./ No. Very few systems on airplanes are date-dependent." Gary North had a posting about how many embedded chips in a 767. Forget how many, but very many. Do the experts agree that "non date- dependent" systems in airplanes are immune to bizarre events?Also, something I found from a magazine. It said that big jets have 3 computer systems. As an example of things-go-wrong, it discussed a crash, in China I belive, not long ago. One computer system on the jet was trying to put the plane into a dive straight into the ground. The pilot fought back, and lost.
Too bad NBC didn't do a two hour special with Yourdon and North and Koskinen!
