For preparing@home.com about Flouride in the water

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Sorry to start a new thread, I would have e-mailed you privately, but your e-mail address doesn't work. Flouride is poison. Do a search on Flouride and see.It does not prevent cavities, especially in adults.

Duffy, I second your statement! Flouride is a poison and anybody that takes flouride pills and brushes their teeth with flouride toothpaste is an idiot!

Why gamble with your health by consuming poison? Buy flouride free toothpaste at your local healthfood store and live longer without health problems!!!!!!

I've done a lot of research on floride, and can say that it appears to be very unsafe to consume. Anyone who out and out believes the ADA and FDA on this is a fool.

Filter your water. Yes, flouride is vastly overdone...you only need a little. (Dr. Strangelove, anyone?)

This is a first. Flouride, a poison? I am assuming it is only a poison in large amounts.....

sheesh, what have I started?

My 5 yr old daughter is going to the dentist tomorrow for a regular exam and cleaning, I will see what he has to say (he is not the kind of dentist to sugarcoat issues--sorry for the pun--for the sake of making a buck.) I won't take what he says as the Holy Grail, b/c he IS a dentist, but I will find it interesting to see what he has to say.

Sorry I won't give out my real emaddress here...could you tell me why it is a poison?

Well Preparing,

Here's a pretty good place to start...

Preparing...do a simple check. Look on your flouridated toothpaste label for the caveats/cautions.

There is probably enough flouride in that full tube of flouridated toothpaste to kill your 5 year old child twice over, should he/she decide to eat the whole thing at one sitting.

Do yourself a favor. Buy non-flouridated toothpaste. It will cost you about 4 times as much as the poisoned version, and it will be worth every dime.

It will also eliminate the dulling affect on the hippocampus of you and your family.

Oh, and don't expect your dentist to know anything beyond the standard issue public statements regarding flouride. Remember, he/she was educated by the very same institutions that tout this stuff as good. He will not know better unless he is 'different' which means going against the grain.

If you have RealAudio you can listen to 2 very enlightening interviews:
