I dont have an exact answer on this but i can give you my opinion. I believe the way the man in the story had to live with the old man and deal with him was in turn portrayed from how virginia (his wife) was so sick for so long. Poe had to see her in pain everyday and had to deal wiht it. of course im sure that poe didnt want to murder his wife but maybe writing it was just a way to escape. sorry if you disagree but its just my o

I've read that he had a heart attack before he wrote the poem so that was why he focused on the heart of the old man beating or something

one week ago almost..i dreamed a person that i am on a relation ship but not really relation..beacsue i am here in my country and he is in Tunis...so i met him on july...i stayed there 10 days and i wnet again for another 10 days...so we didn't had that much together...so i dreamed him i was having coffe and he just got in the door at my uncles in the village...he jsut looked at me......this is the dream that is conserning me..i don't know why?
