Seattle Times to offer Y2k prep series

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

In Friday's Seattle Times "Northwest Weekend", there is an ad promoting a "comprehensive national learning program" from the President's Council on Year 2000 Conversion. Teachers and Community Resource Coordinators are encouraged to apply for registration and free newspapers to assist in educating students and their families regarding preparing for Y2k. There are resource guides and student activity guides available. There will be special Y2K awareness updates and further recomendations from the Council published in the Seattle Times on Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 7, 8 and 9, 1999.

Eh? What? I've been - jokingly - saying that because beaurucrats have taken to (erroneously) talking about the "Century Date Change Problem", maybe they think we're planning for the 2000-2001 transition. Aren't they leaving it a LITTLE late for 1999-2000?

Greg -

Sure hope they have it well marked because no one will be able to find it with all the WTO stuff that will be shouted from the hilltops next week! What lousy timeing on the part of the Times.
