Trying to be purposeful...

Hello.

I have been following this board and postings here for some time now without posting myself much. The recent back-and-forth between naysayers and others is particularly troubling to me as a lurker. For me it portends the difficulty that we may all face in trying to overcome even the smallest hurdle which may be erected by the CDC. If we are reduced to seeing each other as those who "GI" versus "DGI" then how will we ever see each other as humans in need of compassion in the event of a real emergency?

For those who truly believe that not one thing will happen when the date changes, please sit back and relax and don't try to change anyone's mind here. Your efforts would be better spent elsewhere. Remember, this site is for those people who want to examine the evidence, past and emerging, and share advice about how best to prepare for what all reasonable people agree could be at the very least, a series of inconveniences.

As someone who has worked very hard to read ALL testimony as well as other related evidence regarding this issue, I find it completely disingenuous for anyone to put forth a claim or opinion that absolutely nothing will happen (and it is after all, still just your opinion, since you have as far as I can tell never provided any proof to justify your claims that nothing will happen.)

Equally disturbing to me, however, is the holier-than-thou attitude, and crude and viscious diatribes posted by others who don't see that 1) by stooping to name calling, you undercut your own credibility, and 2) you feed an ego that has already eaten too much for its own good.

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for all of the hard work of the many individuals who have taken time to research information and post here. It has made all the difference to me in terms of "getting it."

Sincerely,

Mark (fully prepared, but praying for a 1)

Hi Mark,

In addition to fully agreeing with you, as a female I am also offended by the language that some of the postings contain. Like you, I am always on the lookout for new information and resent having to 'dig through the vocabulary dumpster' in order to glean something vital. Aren't there enough words in the English language to strongly convey a feeling or thought without the use of vulgarity ??????

Yes,

It's time to focus... on Y2K... and getting ready.

Sans trolls.
