Have you tried using 80-minute CD-R media first?? You probably also have to find out whether or not Nero supports 80-minute CD-Rs.

VCD's aren't based on size, they're based on time. So, up to 71 minutes will fit on a normal 74 minute CD-r no problem. Why? Because of the format VCD's are written in- it's more like packet writing than a standard Data CD-r. I've never had a problem copying a VCD using CDR_win. I suggest checking it out at www.goldenhawk.com. Keep in mind, this is ONLY for VCD CD's. If it's an MPEG you are trying to burn, it won't work as an MPEG becasue you are saving it in data CD format. It must be converted through a VideoCD creator. Good luck!

I don't know about you, but I use Nero as well and the limit is 74min., not 71 and that is including the cdi player software. And I know this isn't lying to me because I have burned 74 minutes worth of video on a cd. Using the overburn option in Nero, I was able to achieve 78 min. using Memorex cd-rs. I stopped doing the latter, though, because of fear of damage to my burner. If you're concerned about how much data it will hold, 74 min. on a vcd is about 740 megs. I could be mistaken, though, but it is around 740-750. The 650 meg limit applies to data only, not music or video. There are different formats to be burned. That's why you have to burn a mixed mode cd for the cdi application and structuring (data) and the video (mode 2 xa).
