Fleecy dreams

Last night I had a dream about a fleece pullover. I was standing under the OK gazebo wearing a fleece pullover with OK colors, like our suits, but with an "OK" insignia on the front. There were people from other clubs milling about as their sort is prone to do. Front time to time they would look at me with envy, then cast their eyes downwards in self pity. For my part, I was very proud of the pullover, but when I awoke I realized I had only been dreaming; I have no such pullover.

Without actually raising the whole issue of fleece. I will remind Mook of an earlier post...

Let me just come right out and tell it like it is: Style is important.

There you have it. That being said, I was curious about what other OKers thought about the possible acquisition of club clothing and other accessories, ie., whether there's any general interest in obtaining articles of official OK clothing. In the past we've pooled our resources and bought such things as OK singlets and they really are nice to have. They can look stylish and turn non-OKers green with envy because they know it is something they can never have! As the years go by OK clothing becomes a collectors' item.

Some of this stuff might be had on the cheap, especially if bought in bulk, or if we arrange for a large-scale printing of logos (or whatever) on clothes. I'm willing to investigate a bit of this (or at least start looking around). A few things I've thought of would be headbands, running singlets, toothbrushes, running shorts.

Any thoughts?

Have you been able to start looking around?

Let's not have any interclub bickering.

Mook,

I seem to recall, almost in a dream-like state......

I recall an e-mail message sent to the relay team members, requesting a sweatshirt that I could copy....maybe there was a request for measurements and preferences...I can't completely recall, it's getting hazy....

But I do clearly remember that I am still waiting for a reply from any member of the relay team. Hard to make a fleece pullover with no idea of what size!!:)

If you bring a sweatshirt in December, I'll bring my tape measure to the meet,

Mary

Last night I had what can only be described as another fleecy dream... This time there were about a dozen of us standing around near the jumbotron TV at Jukola. We were all wearing fleece pullovers. They were black, blue, and white like the club suits, but had an "OK" insignia on the front. All of the people around us looked at us with envy and awe. During the course of the night they had come to know very well who and what OK is and what we stood for. Everyone was eagerly anticipating the finish. It had come down to a 3-way race between IKHP, Baekkelagets, and OK. Spike was out there battling it out with Björnar Valstad and the young Swedish star, Erik Öhlund for the lead on the last leg. Suddenly, someone shouted out that they had appeared from the edge of the forest! Spike was in the lead! He blasted up with finish chute towards the finish line with arms upraised... suddenly my vision blurred...

No, that wasn't Spike. It was Valstad in the lead. Spike was still way back near the edge of the trees... oh no! What could have happened? I looked around. Noone was wearing OK fleeces! What's going on? Then I remembered... we had no fleeces! Noone had ever bothered to make club fleeces... it was all just a pipedream...

Third place at Jukola is quite a feat, and something the club would be proud of for years and years to come, but when I awoke this morning I couldn't help thinking of what might have been.
