Y2K Newswire Says NBC's Y2K Movie May Be Dangerously Misleading

Quote:

"The real Y2K impact won't be immediately obvious on January 1. Y2K is not likely to result in a national collapse of electricity, telecommunications or bank services. ``Most Americans won't notice Y2K failures until the first quarter corporate earnings roll in,'' Adams explains."

So let me get this right. Mike has been pushing the "dont believe the hype" from the government but now he thinks it will be a BITR. What was all the pushing of buying a years supply of food and other things for Y2k?. When did he become a polly?.

Yeah, and Freddie Kruger was dangerously misleading too....

Mike is probably correct. Unless there are widespread electric and telephone failures, most problems can be kept from the public for quite some time. Problems in the oil and gas industry, however, will become known before the end of January because of the extremely tight supply situation.

I stand by my conditional forecast...oil disruptions don't occur until week 3 of Jan. 2000. Why? Venezueala and the Middle East supply gets disrupted severely....

Got solar panels?

Mike Adams is a marketer. He is a business person that is interested soley in profits. He doesn't do it out of the kindness of his heart or because he truly believes what he writes about. Thats why Y2KNewswire gradually shifted from the IT technical aspects that were reported on in 1998 to the pseudo Y2K coverage. The conspiracy theories, rumors, guesses, ect. And don't forget the gun locks that were for sale following the shootings at the Denver high school.

Adams saw a market that was not being catered too and he went after it. I don't agree with his tatics but he is going to walk away with a large amount of profits from his work. Don't be surprised to see him back peddle his way out of his prior statements.

I hope Adams will hold himself accountible for his actions and playing on real fears of people. I highly doubt it however.

"Got solar panels?"...John 9.5

You bet, 8-75watters, a 400watt windplant, 100amp 12VDC gas genny and 200+ gallons of fuel (used 10 gallons in the genny last year pre- windplant). I think oil is going to be a major key to what happens next year...better get more gas....
