75mm lens

Is it possible to compare the different versions of the popular 75mm lens. Tell me which one is the best overall performer? the second best? and the models to avoid? I will shoot nature scenes. Thank you very much.

There is of course the 75 shift and it has a very different design. It had to be very sharp off axis and so required more elements. Its design is similar to the second version 55mm(reversed telephoto using thick and thin elements) while the regular 75mm is a modified Retrofocus. Both 75s are quite sharp. SR

From what i understand all the 75s are the same. Just diff. looking. The older ones have a metal focusing ring and metal f-stop ring. Some have a rubber focusing ring and a metal f-stop ring. And the newest ones have both rubber for f-stop and focusing rings. But the built of the lens has always been the same. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The len has always had a good design from the start. The newer ones might have a better smc coating on them. Good Luck..
