which to buy: a coolpix 900 or coolpix 800?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I know I would be getting the 2MP advantage with the cp800 plus the ability to use special-use lenses. It seems that the biggest difference between the cp900 and the cp800; is that the cp800 is only marginally more expensive, MAY have better features (I'm a novice striving upward), but it may not have as good a lense as the cp900.

All thoughts, opinions, rants or raves are certainly welcome. But what I want most are your bottom lines.

Thanks,

With the 800, when you're reviewing the pictures already taken, you can zoom in on a picture but only to the CENTER of that picture, you can't scroll around and see the corners or edges while zoomed in.

Also, obviously, the zoom lens (in picture taking mode) is only 2x, not 3x as with the 950.
