Is there anyone outher who knows of any replacement batteries other than 2cr5 to power the EOS 5 A2E. I guess i've already read such inquiry a long time ago and wishing that there's already development regarding this matter. I use my camera extensively and I do a lot of metering and high speed advance thats why I use a lot of power. I also knew that there's a battery pack for the EOS 5 but when I saw my friend using one I find it very cumbersome since it has this sort of tel. cord. Anyone?

I think you're out of luck. The A2 is so old Canon aren't likely to bring out anything either.

There is a rechargable 2CR5 system available. The EOS Magazine did a review of them recently. People say they work well unless it gets cold out. Hard to beat Lithiums in the cold.

There is one of these systems for sale on ebay.com right now, and I've seen them there before.

What's the capacity of the rechargable 2CR5s? I built one myself about 4 or 5 years ago using a 2CR5 housing and some small NiCads. It worked, but was only good for one roll or so, which wasn't exactly convenient. I suppose if you did the same with NiMH cells, it would be a bit better, but small NiMH cells weren't available at the time. I've never seen a rechargable 2CR5 advertised in the USA either.

While there's no alternative other than the BP-5 battery pack (which is cumbersome), I saw a guy using a monopod with the pack secured to the pod. The set-up looked like it worked out well. If you're using a mono-pod, this could be the best way to go!

It seems that's a nice alternative but i do wedding and not just the usual picture taking...shooting an entourage while having your camera stuck on a monopod...well you know what.
