The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) reassured concerned lawmakers on Tuesday that the nation's 103 nuclear power plants will see no disruptions as a result of the millennium rollover.

Yes Monty, excellent news. What with the Senate Subcommitee requesting more information, I only hope the NRC isn't pulling an FAA (Fixed Almost Already), Are there any exceptions outstanding? While a little OT todays headlines had a classic FAA example.

Headline: FAA: Airlines Ready For Y2K Excerpts: "Airports were also assessed. Some say their Y2K software fixes are not yet complete, but should be well before New Year's Eve."

"The FAA earlier checked systems on airplanes that handle flight and navigational systems. These systems will not be affected by the date change, or will have alarm systems to red-flag problems before takeoff."
