need help in unlocking acrobat file

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I have downloaded a file on acrobat that is very inportant even though it shows that it is one page it is 930k file this does not make sense for just one pade worth of data. which makes me think that it is larger than one page and the rest of the pages are hidden from view. Is it possible that it is encripted in some fashion. I need help to solve this mystery. It may contain valuable y2k info. How do I view what the other data is on the file. thanks y2k aware mike.

A 1MB, 1-page PDF file would not be out of the question, especially if the page contains a large detailed photograph.

You can always open it with a good text editor (i.e. something better than Notepad) to see if there's any readable text or mostly binary data.

PDF files can also contain lots of overhead stuff. For example, font information.

For the Adobe Acrobat PDF file challenged...

You loose the graphics but get the text.

Whenever you have the complete internet PDF code of a document, you can send an e-mail to Adobe for an instant, automatic text conversion...

Send to: pdf2txt@adobe.com

The Subject line can be anything, but ONLY one pdf code can be in the body of the message... just the code... no message. Within a couple minutes Adobe will send you back a text coverted copy. Youll miss the graphics, but it allows the Adobe Acrobat challenged to see what its all about.

(If for any reason it doesnt convert, try resending or contact the Adobe web-site folks for help).

The pdf document I am talking about is the senates 100 day report dear colleges. It seems ot me that 930k worth of data is excessive for just displaying one page worth of info. Must me something more to it. go there and see for your self. I believe they are hiding something from the public. If the sh*t is going to hit the fan they should just go ahead and tell us. It to late for us to stop it at this point. they should just come clean and help us to get ready to start the recovery process now.
