Movie Recommendations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ordinary ups + downs : One Thread

So, movie recommendations, I am taking them.

I've been discouraged lately by all the crap I've been watching, and I'm getting worried that my favourite past time -sprawling on the couch with remote in hand- will lose its excitement factor. Heh, imagine that.

Anyway, list your favourites, recent finds, movies you love to hate. I'll watch anything once.

Tom Hanks. As over-marketed as it was, "Forrest Gump" was a great film. There's 'Big", and "Radio Flyer", "Philadelphia", "Apollo 13", "Saving Private Ryan", and oddly enough, "That Thing You Do" which has a great cast and soundtrack. And Hanks wrote some of the songs. There's a reason he's been nominated for so many Acadamy Awards, and won so many. Once is lucky, more than that and you're probably worth watching in a couple of flicks...

I've seen the best new movies lately, including American Beauty. I loved it so much...but anyway, the new Scorseze flick, Bringing Out The Dead, was SO wonderful. I have to see it again. I also saw Dogma this weekend & it is so great, too (especially if you're a Kevin Smith & Alanis Morisette fan)...hope you enjoy my suggestions!
