Prison Roads Closed Over New Year 12:31PM Mon Nov 15 1999 NZDT

Three roads around Wellington Prison are going to be closed over the New Year period, but the Department of Corrections isn't saying whether it's because of Y2K bug concerns.

Main Road, Nevay Road and Prison Road will be closed, although the Wellington City Council says residents will still be able to get in and out of the area.

Department spokeswoman Angela Bensemann says the reasons are precautionary and not because of any specific problem which has been identified.
