I have one. You can download a copy from:

http://www.y2k.gov/java/prepare.html

If you print it, after you look at it, throw it in the trash where it belongs.

I'm keeping mine because I'm going to talk about it at Paula Gordon's Y2K conference this week.

At her press conference on Friday, I held it up for the reporters and told them I thought it was pathetic. I wish I could remember my exact words.

It stinks!

if you log into the FTC web site (Y2k.gov) and request consumer info, i beleive it forces you to get it. i requested a copy and was stunned (but then why should i be surprised) there was almost no prep info--other than to keep your money in the bank. amazing. just look at their web site--it is really on readiness not preparation.

I got the booklet off the www.y2k.gov site. What I want to know is when & how are all the folks who don't have 'puters, internet, time to dig, etc... supposed to receive this "guidance". Isn't this supposed to be Washington's big disemination of information? Like, when is my mother-in-law, who has never even used an ATM, going to receive this information. We're not talking about a crone in darkest Dogpatch, either, but a nice old (she's not reading this, I hope!) lady who's married to a nice old man, goes to the mall, to the market, watches the network news, Wheel of Fortune, etc...

Are those of us who have made a point of researching this problem the only ones who are going to see this booklet? How many of the "john q. public" even know it exists, let alone what it says?

I agree, it's mainly useless. But it's better than the nothing that has come down so far, isn't it? Isn't three days of preps better than nothing?

Hi,

The booklet is less than worthless (took up space on hard drive.) When I read it, the same old "long weekend" scenario played back. After a year of daily intense research on the subject, I STILL don't know what's going to happen, but if the government says "all is well", than I worry...

I wonder if they could have made their html any smaller font size. They could fit more on each screen that way...
