Discussions Anyone? Re: Forum Back-ups & Alternatives?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Forum Moderators : One Thread

Just making space. The e-mail rounds can get a tad confusing.

As I understand it, Arnie's Forum is one back-up discussion option... in case MIT goes down for a time (see earlier threads). And the main question seems to be... do we broadly publicize it as an alternate spot or limit it to "invitation" only?

Also Rick Cowles may have an alternate site, as will Michael Hyatt.

(Backing up the TBY2K archives is another issue, and since Phil Greenspun is uncooperative without $$$, a tech wizard needs to solve the high-speed download, retrieval & storage problems).

That cover it? Sort'a?

My vote goes against open invitation.

It's fun to mess about on Bok's board but the conversation does tend to deteriorate way beyond silly sometimes. And I'm pretty silly myself. It's been useful for swapping e-mail addresses when no trolls are around, though. I'm collecting some of them for Arnie's board.

As I understand it, these discussions are taking place over on Arnie's board.

Will check in again... soon.
