The REAL Story

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

So here we are facing the biggest disaster since the collapse of the Roman Empire and no goverment on the entire planet will acknowledge it being anything more than a "Bump-in-the-Road". The ENTIRE PLANET! People, think about it! Either this is going to be a non-event or all these goverments are in collusion (I think they are) which means this is going to be way worse then anyone thinks! There is an ulterior motive behind all of this, else the world would have woken up to this about 5 years ago and everyone would be preparing. But you know all of that....

What really bothers me is that everyone on this forum seems to treat this like its some kind of 2 week getaway and we all need to get our supplies and get ready and "OH, its going to be so much fun to get away from the evil of civilization and get back to nature...".

When this thing goes down its OVER people! No more supermarket. No more going out to dinner. No more gas for your car. No more fresh milk for the kids. MILLIONS DEAD! MILLIONS! Your children will NEVER know the life you lived! This is not fun and games anymore. This is the death of a civilization and we are the witnesses...

I sincerely hope that we all start posting only the most important information for our survival on this forum so that all the latecomers can at least have a chance to survive the coming apocalypse...

May God have mercy on us...

I believe all the world Governments want to de-populate the world. There are too many people in every country. Only the strong and smart will survive!

I have 5 years of food stored up and I still feel I do not have enough!

-- ... (...@...com), November 14, 1999.

Only 5% have prepared. 260 million people in the USA. 200 million could possibly die next year in the US alone. Can you imagine what that will do to Real Estate prices with millions of empty homes? I'm a Realtor. Empty homes and no customers!!! They will be stacking them 10 dep in cemetaries and burying them in back yards and empty lots and mass graves! What a mess and right now nobody cares! Somebody said to me today "Y2K is so overblown!" Stupid broad!

-- bbb (bbb@bbb.com), November 14, 1999.

Sad thats my accessment also. You are on target. The govts lie and the churches are not doing there due diligence. Hard to get our families into G.I mode because of the trillion dollar media spin that every ones y2k ok with no real investigative mainstream journalism to back it up. Freedom of the press is dead.

Wow, I think I am going to take a vacation from trolling. You people are much better at it than I am.

I don't think YOU are really serious about Y2K. You've mentioned NOTHING about contrails or chemtrails. Or are you a government spy who just wants to track how prepared everyone is? You can't have MY chocolate!!

Governments dont want depopulation because that would mean fewer taxpayers

There is only so much that the mind can handle. The same with the pantry. There are many of us that are very concerned. But one can only stay in the panic mode for so long. I have been at this for 18 months. My brain is playing tricks on me. I have never wavered from an 8 to 10. But lately I have begun to "disconnect" and start thinking/saying things like , "next year I want to......". Its called survival of the mind. I have been a captive for 18 months and my mind is beginning to rebel. Once the challenge of prepping is over, it becomes just tedious and worriesome and overwhelming, and I can't handle it all day, every day. So cut us some slack. We have talked the talk and walked the walk all the way, so far. I am sure we will walk the walk after the roll over too.

@:

Regarding your insecurity on your 5 years of food:

The approach here must be that stored food should only be seen as a transition to growing your own (canning, drying, etc. for cold winters) , wild edibles (including inner bark, roots, pine needles and cones, etc. in cold winters), and whatever livestock you have or game you can hunt. That's why my goal since mid-1998 was to have at least about 19-20 months of stored food to get us past the harvest of 2001.

Of course, if I had more money, I'm sure I would have bought more food anyway.

If you don't take this approach, practically no amount of stored food would ever be enough.

Of course, this post assumes a 9-10 scenario, and does not apply to the reader who envisions it differently.

Yes, I too smell a troll, but my strategy is just to prep for 2-3 months. I'm just not so sold on the overwhemlming importance of my own personal survival that I'm going to plan on 5 years. If it's as bad as my darkest fears hint that it will be, why the hell would I want to stick around? I'm not entirely thrilled about being here on Earth (with all these myopic, stupid, and insensitive bipeds that dare to call themselves sentient) at the best of times...why should I be so determined to stay when people truly become decivilized? What's the point? To live long enough to breed even more of us? I like to rationalize it by saying that the future needs people with a somewhat evolved mode of thinking to counterbalance all the militia types (despite the fact that I know and like some of these people) who are generally not known for their literacy or education. But that thought is utter bullshit as well as I am all too aware of how quickly the veneer of intellectualism is stripped away when you're fighting to the death over the last can of beans.

Plus I live in an apartment and don't have the room.

GET A GRIP! Things will get back to some semblence of normal after a while. We, the American people need a good shock back to reality anyway. Read AGAIN what TAZ wrote. All things will pass!!!!!!!!! I have prepared enough to get through the winter. If things are still a mess after that, I have the tools, and the skills to survive it. (God willing) It won't be the cushy life I live now, but it will be life. GET A GRIP N O W !

And banks only want debt free people roaming the streets. That is so they might come borrow, be robbed and start the cycle all over again.

Sad,

I believe there's a lot of "government collusion" involved to keep things quiet, but for the most part, I think most of the lack of attention/concern vis a vis the CDC issue has more to do with human nature (denial, apathy, ignorance, etc.), rather than some nefarious worldwide conspiracy.

People simply don't want to hear about it and they are convinced Y2K is a non-issue.

I think there will be a few nations using the bug to depopulate. That doesn't mean the G8 is in conspiracy or that it is the globe. Those caught doing so will be declared war criminals and they will be tried.

I am suspicious of India and Mexico.

-- Paula (chowbabe@pacbell.net), November 14, 1999.

De-population has absolutely NOTHING to do with taxes! Your taxes go straight to the Federal Reserve Bank and then disappears into thin air. Our Government does not need your taxes, since they can print up any amount of money they want! Even your Social Security payments go into the Federal Reserve Bank coffers! If you're self employed you can prove this to yourself. Simply look at the back of the checks you sent to the IRS. They have all been stamped and endorsed for payment to the Federal Reserve Bank.

We have a lot of Y2K Gi's here on this Forum, but most of you are DGI's as far as our Government scam is concerned.

Most of you don't even know that the income tax is voluntary. There is no Statute in the IRS Code that requires Americans to pay tax!

De-population has NOTHING to do with taxes!

-- bbb (bbb@bbb.com), November 14, 1999.

Jeee-zus!

Half of the people in this forum are out of their minds! Between the government-bashing, star-staring, anti-society, Howlitzer-packin' psychotics, how can anyone make a juried guess as to the severity of the rollover?

The "bug" looks far more benign than most of you people.

If you're trolling, so be it.

For the newcomer to Y2K, try not to be frightened away from the forum or truth-seeking due to fanatical expressions of those in mental anguish over the issue.

There is much information to be gathered here, but you'll have to wisely separate the frantic, somewhat over-the-top "we're all gonna die" non-information from the helpful postings.

I recommend using your browsers search tool to find postings and discussions related to energy, oil, healthcare, or any other topic of interest. You will likely find some good information here. But as you know, time is short and you should already have a bare minimum of 1-3 months supply of food, water, batteries etc -- and "comfort" items like books and games.

We will make it through the mess, but it will take some time. It appears we are definitely in for a change in lifestyle, at least for a year or two (more?).

Good luck to us all.

Talking about the coming collapse, I have to say that I totally agree with you completely. I knew that this was coming in someway for quite sometime time now. Why do we humans keep doing this to ourselves every so often. I agree that there will be millions and millions of people dying. In the beginning how many will die just from the culture shock of what is happening. Just think what will happen when all these over complacent people wake up and then they see that the world is suddenly unraveling itself just from the start of a computer bug. Remember at the start of the depression how many people starting jumping out the windows. You can bet that you will be easily seeing things like this again like all those BMW suburban idiots who think they are so cool and heve everything waking up and going insane when they see what is happening. So many who are preparing are only preparing for only so many months. What about the longterm. It will be the death of life as we know it. We will have to go back and live life according to our MOTHER EARTH dictates again. All of this artificiality and syntheticness will vanish instantly. As for me, I have stored up no food for this whatsoever. I lived in the Rocky Mountain Wilderness pretty much living off the land for 15 years. Occasionally during the winter would come out and work awhile, for a few months. As for me I will be leaving my apartment and go back into the DEEP, DEEP Rocky Mountain Wilderness and live that life again. Living back there is really like living in paradise. It might be hard but you are surrounded by beauty at all times. I think we all will be sooner or later be headed in this direction - LIVING AGAIN ONE IN THE NATURAL WAY WITH OUR MOTHER EARTH. It is SAD to think of all the coming suffering and all the innocents that will suffer like the children for example. May the creator have mercy on all of us.

Laura, when we first came onto the Forum, over a year ago, we were blown away by many of the posts, and then it was uniformly civil, polite, serious, deep, intellectually and emotionally engaging -- the Golden Age of TB2K. Look in the archives. Pre-December.

To our utter amazed horror, we have found, through intense research and verification, that many of the outlandish concepts and discussions exposed actually true facts. It has been an education.

For example, read this:

CASH and the 'CARRY TAX'

Time is short. If you are strong and manage to stay here, your view of the world will change. You will have in your possession facts and friends that the weeples-at-large cannot possibly imagine.

Sad:

I'm preparing for the forthcoming depression which will change America forever. I read at least ten posts here daily because it's where I learn a lot. For me, Y2K is not as significant as what follows. I basically believe that the book of REVELATION is going to be fulfilled to the letter, and countless people will die. I know we're in the last days because of the signs and the scoffers. Catastrophic world events will occur closer and closer together like birth pangs, but the end is not yet. People will mock me as being a fanatic, but they won't be smirking when the evil spiritual storm destroys America.

Sad.

-- Randolph (dinosaur@williams-net.com), November 14, 1999.

Yes, the income tax is voluntary. Just remember that the system would have no problem with throwing you in jail for non-payment of those voluntary income taxes. If you make very little money anyway, they won't notice. But if you go mouthing off to everyone about how voluntary the tax system is, you'll wind up in jail and be tried by 12 lobotomized sheeple who will send you straight to federal prison.

The saying they taught me in driver's training:

Here lies the body of William Jay, Who died defending his right of way. He was right, dead right, as he sped along, but he's just as dead as if he were wrong.
