naaaw. because you have to think about whether you still want to be friends. who do you know better at this point, the friend or the boy? Who would you miss more if it didn't work out? If your relationship with the friend is at least equally important, then talk to her too.

Is the guy interested in either one of you? If not, there is no problem. Will you feel hurt if he chooses your friend instead?
