Multi year registration

greenspun.com : LUSENET : I-695 Thirty Dollar License Tab Initiative : One Thread

I am thinking of leasing a car in January 2000. The lease term is two to tree years. Can I buy the tabs for two years ?, so I can save $3 filing fee.

Thanks

Jacob

Nope.... the system is set up right now for only annual renewals. However, it wouldn't surprise me if the state went to some type of multi-year renewal. It would save huge amounts in administrative expense.

Buy hey, are you really serious about looking for a way to save a few bucks? How about BUYING you car? For the vast majority of the people, leasing is nothing more than a method concocted by car dealers to allow you to live beyond your means. It certainly will not save you any money, especially when it comes time to pay for all those parking lot dings and dents at the end of the lease.

My search into the law shows that if you are not in a capacity of commerce you can permanently register your car. Government was brought into being to take the roadblocks like you speak of, away. Never were they to be the tyrannical thieving SOBs we have allowed them to become.

Hey Chuck... chill! We're talkin' about license tabs, not a tyrannical government!
