Late Night Dates

Next month marks the first anniversary of OK's premiere nighttime trail run, Late Night with Mook. The date and time for LN has not been established, but the aim is for some time around Christmas, particularly during the week leading up to Christmas. Last year the first ever Late Night was held during the early evening on a weekday. I think it was 6:30. Will such a plan work again and how many potential Late Nighters are there? If you are interested in Late Night and/or want to request or avoid certain scheduling, please respond below. Probably LN will be run on Lawrence area trails.

Late Night is not traditionally a particularly long run, although that could depend on the weather somewhat. I think last year we ran for 30-40 minutes on quite a cold night along the Kaw River Trails East of Lawrence. In fact, it was almost LaRamie-like out there if I recall. If you are wondering what Late Night is like, you can get a little feeling for it by checking out what is promising to be one of the all-time classic OK photos taken by Spike at the start of the '98 Late Night - here.

If you are reading this, you're welcome at Late Night, although you should expect to be able to at least run slowly with the group for a while. Tradition has it that Late Night is followed by a meal, and the social atmosphere at Late Night is incomparable.
